'Concrete stories II' is a follow up from the previous book ‘Concretes Stories” with a brand new collection of images of human activities as they unfold on Hong Kong’s rooftops.

In high density Hong Kong cramped for space, rooftops of older buildings act as little  courtyards up in the air. Unfortunately they are set to disappear making space for taller and more modern sky scrapers where rooftop are either totally unaccessible or well-secured to be accessed only by their owner.

Romain HK is a photographer based in Hong Kong. Since 2011 he has been working on several photographic projects depicting this city mainly focusing on extreme urbanization, local heritage and the relationship between city and nature. Previous publications are: ‘Vertical Horizon’ (2012, 2014 and 2017), ‘Wild Concrete’ (2014) and ‘The Blue Moment’ (2016). 'Concrete Stories' is the artist's fourth book. Romain JL's work has been extensively featured in major publications across the world (The Guardian, National Geographic, Huffington Post, CNN, Wall Street Journal, El Pais, Le Figaro Magazine, Die Welt and Apple Daily and many more...)
