Body paint has been practiced by various communities across different cultures and times, from ancient and modern indigenous tribes to artists as seen by Yves Klein’s Anthropometries series. It only seems natural that LOUSY, a Hong Kong based artist who leaves his mark on all surfaces from the streets to the canvas, would explore his erotic and vibrant vision on human bodies. In “YOOK”, a compilation of photos taken by LOUSY between 2019 and 2020, the artist calls on a number of his muses from different cities and paints on their bodies in his signature bold lines, drawing attention to their curves with his playful and fluid strokes.
