Blue Lotus artists Michael Wolf and Tugo Cheng were invited to show work at Cheung Chau Wave Art and Culture Festival 2017.
Using a map which directs visitors to each site dotted around the island, one can explore various forms of art; photography street performance, video, painting, sculpture and music, all negotiating the theme of life by water. The range stretches from island & water ecology to fishing culture including human birth.
Blue Lotus Gallery is proud to announce the collaboration of two of our artists:
Michael Wolf will show for the first time his brand new series of work: 'Fish'.
Wolf is well known for exploring Hong Kong's identity through various projects mainly exploring its urban culture and cityscapes. This time Wolf turns his attention to objects that are quintessential to Hong Kong's food culture: dried fish. Each specimen is displayed in oversized prints floating in mid-air accentuating its translucent nature while revealing its smallest details.
Tugo Cheng very appropriately will show his award winning 'Coastal Geometries' series documenting fishing culture in Fujian. The unique forms and geometries turn the seascape into an array of minimalist compositions of abstract lines and shapes.
